My cute cousin Lynsie is getting married to Mr. Cass next month and I threw her a shower on Friday! Yes, two days after getting back from a 2 week cruise! It was cram time when I got home, but it was super fun preparing for it! It turned out really cute, thanks to Pinterest.com. Seriously.... all my ideas came from that website. Love it! Her colors are pink and tan. I was going for a vintage theme but it didn't really turn out looking vintage at all, haha. Oh well.
I bought roses and daisies and stuffed them in a vase completely full of water. Those puppies wanted to float!
I made tissue paper balls for above the table.
The invitations my mom and I made. They looked prettier with my address visible.
Love these!
The bow ties on the grooms were not easy to make... I did these strawberries so fast right before the shower started.
The punch was Raspberry Sherbet with 7Up, then cut up oranges, lemons, and limes. IT. WAS. AMAZING! I wish I had bought more 7Up, it went FAST!
My mommy made these lovely cupcakes. I helped decorate some of them (the ugly ones)
Thanks to Becky from my ward and Aunt Kathie for lending me cupcakes displays!
I ended up adding white streamers at last second, but I didn't take the time to look at the Pinterest picture again, so they're not as cute as they were meant to be. I did it wrong. I'm not going to show you the Pinterest picture so you can just believe that this shower is as cute as it could have been ;-)
Cuties!
As guests arrived, I (well, actually little Maren) handed each of them 7 popsicle sticks and explained that there were taboo words they couldn't say throughout the shower:
If you caught someone saying one of these words, you got to steal a popsicle stick from them, then the person with the most at the end of the shower got a prize.
Notice we added 'cute' at the bottom? This was a good choice. They got Lynsie with that word a LOT! Muahaha!

It was pretty funny to watch everyone play!
Here's Lauren getting on early start on catching people saying the words.
This baby is so snuggley!!! I love it!
I don't know what she is showing him, but this picture makes me laugh.
I found some random bubble gum, so we made Lynsie play the bubblegum game. We hadn't prepared questions for Cass to answer and for Lynsie to try to get right, so we just had everyone ask any question they wanted to about Cass, and if Lynsie got it wrong she had to pop a gum in her mouth.
Hilarious! (I was taking pictures too quickly to do them properly, so all the pictures like this are focused on Cass, and Lynsie is blurry. Way to steal the show, man!)
She looks like she's gonna be sick... hahaha

Lynsie had such a hard time not saying "love" and "cute" as she was opening her gifts. She opened one and said, "This is BEAUTIFUL. I'm not going to say the other word!" Then literally about 5 words later she said the word "cute." It was hilarious!
She was such a good sport about losing all her popsicle sticks :-)
This was my gift. Hehehe. Cass's face cracks me UP! Haha, sorry to embarrass you guys! I had to!

From none other than her own mother! Cass looks excited ;-)
You two are very precious and will make one heck of a good looking married couple, and gorgeous babies!!
I'm so excited for you both. Cass, you're getting an AWESOME woman there! Lynsie, I'm so so proud of you and the wonderful choices you have made in your life. You really are an amazing person and I look up to you so much!
I love you!
