We are PREGNANT!

Say what?!?! My seed was fertilized by a very special seed man. :) We are beyond excited! This was a very big surprise to Cass and I. We were not trying to get pregnant but Heavenly Father thought other wise. Cass and I decided to stop birth control and try other methods of prevention until after a year of working as a Nurse. Ha. Lesson learned- Don't play dodge ball because we aren't good at dodging ;) We were pregnant two months later and no job...yet. I had just graduated Nursing School and the night after we headed to Arizona for my graduation vacation. Havasupai! Hopefully one of these days, I will blog about it. Cass and I came home from this LONG and FUN and HARD trip, it was our anniversary so we went and got massages for our sore bodies. The gentleman told me after the massage to drink LOTS of water because of the build up of lactic acid and lymph in our systems. Lets say, I drank gallons of water that day and was SO SO SO sick. It crossed my mind "A massage shouldn't make me this sick?" and came to the worst case scenario "I got a parasite from drinking the spring water at Havasupai" Luckily that thought didn't last long after talking to my mom. She put the nice little thought in my head, "When was your last period." ohhhh hmmm duh! Maybe I should take a pregnancy test. I ordered some pregnancy tests from amazon and they got delayed by 4 more days. I couldn't wait that long. After the gym, Cass and I went to the grocery store and picked up a cute little 88 cents pregnancy test. We were so anxious and excited! We both had a feeling we were pregnant before taking the test because I had all the signs. Well we anxiously watch that faint purple line turn to solid instantly. POSITIVE! Looking at Cass wide eyed he said "I need to work more over-time." and I started to have tears of happiness. We are having a baby! After it set in Cass said "It better be a boy," he got more excited as the seconds passed.

I wrote in my Journal and I'm sharing what I wrote the day it happened:
"It was May 26th when your Dad and I took our 1st test. I ordered pregnancy test from Amazon they came a  week late. I couldn't wait so after the gym we went to the grocery store and bought an 88 cents one. We rushed home and took the test. It was automatically positive. No questions asked! It was positive! We are having a baby!"

First reaction when I realized it was positive:
"I had tears of joy. I was shocked and relieved. I was shocked because I didn't even think I was pregnant. I was relieved because I knew why I was so sick! It was an unplanned surprise in our eyes but heavenly father knew exactly when he wanted you in our lives."

How I told Dad:
"Your dad was right by my side. The two lines turned purple and I said "You're going to be a Daddy!" He was silent for a few seconds. His first reaction was "Did we make a boy or a girl?" and then it was "I need to work some overtime! Dad is very realistic and excited to provide for the family."

Who we told right away and their reactions:
"Everyone has been so excited! Grandma Eileen said "I had a feeling!" Grammy Pam said "No way! Really??" Scottie said "You??" Aunt Nicole said "Me too!" Grandma Teresa said "Are you serious?" Grandpa Bill said "If you knew what I knew you would give it back." Aunt Annalee said "Auntie Anal" Uncle William said "Ya. Whatever." I told uncle Andrew that my pregnancy was as unplanned surprise and he said, "Like the rest of us!" Grandpa Overman said "Congrats!" Cousin Chelsi is so excited and she is helping me cope with the ALL day sickness! I texted my cousin Bre and she called immediately SO EXCITED! Mom's best friend Shelby was one of the first people I told because I could just tell her! She is so happy! I hope she gets pregnant soon so our babies can be friends!

How we told Dad's Family:
We told Dad's family at Lake Powell. We printed out signs that said "Lynsie's Pregnant" We had cousin Kade (Age 4) and Brayton (Age 2) run the signs over to Grammy and Scottie. It was a big surprise because they thought Aunt Nicole was pregnant but it was us! Then Nicole surprise us by saying "Me too!" YAY!

How we told Mom's Family:
We live 6 hours away from Mom's family so we had to do it over facetime. I called Cousin Lauren (Age 12) and asked her to come up with a creative way to tell my mom. So Lauren, Mike, Julie, Lex, and Zach created a Family Home Evening lesson for Laurens personal project goals. Dad and I were able to facetime during the lesson. They started out my singing Happy Birthday to Dad. Then they did announcements, they said they have a big announcement! Julie stood up and held the ultrasound picture to her belly and said "Teresa, you're going to be a grandma!" Everyone was so excited!!
