Baby Caleb

Today we had our 24 week appointment with an ultrasound! I love getting to see our little peanut! Today was fun because the ultrasound tech stayed on his face for like five minutes just to watch him. Caleb was sticking his fingers in and out of his mouth. We could see his tongue moving around his fingers. He was also putting his hand on his face and nose. It was so precious and fun to watch. The baby appears happy and healthy!!

Mom is doing well! I've had to take Pepcid for heartburn. Then have to occasionally wear my compression socks for my spider/varicose veins because they hurt. They are only in my right leg. Other than that, I'm great! I love feeling him move all around. He is moving around but his kicks/punches aren't strong enough to hurt yet!

Mesquite Rec Center

Today the world seemed to stop spinning. The pool was packed with children swimming, laughing and playing. Cass, Cole and I swam together and we had a blast. Cole was so smiley and loved being in the water. We tossed Cole back and forth between us. It felt like we were the only ones in the pool. All I could hear was Cole's laugh. As soon as he was tossed from mom to dad he would start doing the "more" sign in sign language. It was hilarious. He loved being tossed high in the air. Then he got distracted with the water basketball. He started saying "Bawl bawl bawl" So we shot some hoops and his thought his dad was so cool. He loved spinning it and throwing it. There also is a big slide at the rec center pool that you're supposed to be 48" tall to ride and ya ta ya ta. They are not strict at who goes down. Cole loves this slide! The farther you get down, the faster it goes and Cole starts laughing towards the end at the fast, sharp corners. His laugh is just contagious. We sure had a fun day at the pool and it's a day I want to remember. Cole is getting so big but is little at the same time. I love watching him explore and try new things.

We finished our fun day by going on a walk and Cole didn't want to ride on his radio flyer trike, he ran for a long ways! Making sure to explore all the trees, plants, electrical boxes, and people's yard ordainments.  Our normal walk is sprinting for him, I was shocked at how long he ran.

Happy 2-9 babe!

Cass turned 29! Next year is 30!! What!?! Pretty awesome! Still sexy as ever 😘 I played off a good surprise this year! Everything worked out and he was really suprised! Scott (Cass's stepdad) called Cass telling him about these guns that came available. Cass immediately started researching them and looked at them, and got excited. Naturally, I told him that the timing wasn't right and we needed to wait. Cass kept talking about them and I was wish washy. Then he left for the gym and I had my mind set on another gift but then realized these guns were a good CASH deal. No background checks. So I called up Scott and he picked it up for me and bought it to the house all while Cass was getting buffer. Then Scott sent Cass the good ol text "sorry, someone bought the deer rifle, it's gone" Cass was bummed! He said "That's what happens when we wait to long and don't jump on it" and said a few other things but I had to change the subject because I'm a terrible lair! The gun was hiding in the closet waiting for its new owner! It's a Mossberg .308, it's a good starter gun for Cass to get into hunting. Cass got home from work and we are stuffed French toast. Then it was gift time! Cole and I went into the bedroom and recorded Cass coming into the room. His face was priceless! He said "oooooooooo, get out of here! ....face stunned for a long time...... that was you that bought the gun!?!" He was so excited. Totally worth it! Then we went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner and shopping at Costco. Grammy watched Cole for us. We love date night! Cass said he has a good birthday! We celebrated his birthday on Saturday at his moms. We had Bella's pizza. (Cass's fav) Then we had brownies and mint chocolate chip ice cream. Grandma and Grandpa Taylor were there, so that was a fun change! Cass got a gift certificate to the movies and a jig saw! Another good year!

Swimming with the Smiths.

I'm so excited to have Shelby back close to me! She just built a home in Washington. We are about 45 minutes away from each other. Hanging out with her and Cydney was so therapeutic for me! I really needed some bonding time. Our boys had fun with each other too! It was a win win. We went to the Washington Rec center and went swimming. Cole was so hesitant because it was so loud but he slowly warmed up. He took two awesome naps at Shelbys house. I still smile thinking about this get together. So simple but so good for me! I miss them and can't wait for more adventures!

Sweet Baby Cole

Cole has two speeds.... full throttle and sound asleep. Today we spent the morning outside washing the car and pulling up weeds in our unlandscaped yard. Cole is right there under foot to explore and watch everything we do. Running all over the garage, yelling VROOOMM as the motorcycle, pushing his radio flyer around, and playing with Cali's water bowl and toys. He loves throwing the ball to Cali. She normally catches it before it hits the ground, which he either finds it funny or gets frustrated. He got soaking wet playing with the hose. He was drinking from it thinking he was so big.

It was time for a nap, so I took off his wet clothes and changed his bum. I held his little body and rocked in the rocking chair in his dark room. We snuggled with his light-blue stripped swaddle blanket and one of his favorite stuffed animals, Peter Rabbit. His body was so still and seemed to be so comfortable close to me. The connection I feel when he is so close to me is like heaven on earth. I don't have words for it. His head smelled like a little sweaty boy playing outside all morning. His skin is so soft and sweet. His little legs crossed against my lap and his head rested close to my heart. Rocking back and forth brings such a calming sensation. I love my sweet baby boy.
